The Monferrato district has a powerful, determined, forthright character, but it is also discreet and reserved. In locations where nature still has the upper hand, often it is the places that choose the people. And so the vineyards constituting the winery today are the result of an experience of life, chosen by means of communication emerging from the call of the earth with the spirit of a place steeped in history and meaning. With their constant commitment, Giovanni and Emanuela have restored value to locations and lands that had been abandoned for years: “We wanted to give new life to unfarmed land and dilapidated ruins, in order to protect their beauty – says Emanuela – When we purchased the hill below Montemagno castle in 2015, it was simply an arable field. When I opened the windows of the house, I would have liked to have seen a vineyard, but what’s more, I was certain that originally that field actually was a vineyard, and that is why I wanted to bring it back to its original vocation”.
